I'm known to most people as Charlie and have been employed as a full-time counsellor, then psychotherapist since 2014; working one-to-one with adults and facilitating therapeutic groups. Prior to this career I spent over ten years working in the field of conflict resolution, behaviour change programmes and parenting support; all of which required a strong, supportive working relationship with clients.
Alongside my work within organisations, I also have a private practice offering counselling support for a range of issues. I offer support both face-to-face in North Devon and online.
My aim is to offer you a warm and welcoming space, in which you can explore your concerns, discover a deeper understanding of yourself, and a renewed sense of self worth. This enables you to move forward with confidence.
Experience and training
MBACP (Accred)I graduated with a Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling in 2015 and have worked as a full-time counsellor ever since.
In 2021 I received Accreditation as a Psychotherapist from the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.My approach is Person centred and Transpersonal, we always start with what you bring and what's most important in you today, then trust what intuitively emerges through our shared connection. This approach puts significant emphasis on the open, compassionate, non-judgemental relationship between therapist and client, building connection in vulnerability.
I also draw on other therapeutic models, such as CBT, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis, working creatively when and where it is appropriate for my client.
With six years experience as a Supervisor for the counselling team within an organisation, I completed a post graduate qualification in Supervision and offer Supervision for private practitioners and health care professionals.
